The Country Club Tasmania is a fantastically located resort on the edge of Launceston which incorporates a hotel, an 18-hole championship golf course, five excellent restaurants and four bars and, of course, a casino.
The casino has a decent – if not wholly extensive – array of games, including American roulette, blackjack and pontoon, Texas hold ‘em poker, and a variety of pokies whose minimum bets range from a cent to a dollar. There can be up to 10 players for any game of poker, though there are no private rooms or specific poker tournaments at this stage. If you want to stay at the resort, there are accommodation options to suit most tastes, from five star luxury suites in the main complex (very handy for late nights in the casino) to a range of self-contained one, two and three bedroom villas in the nearby Country Club Villas complex.
As well as the golf course, other leisure options (at both complexes) include tennis courts, heated indoor swimming pools and health centres with spa and sauna. The staff can also arrange horse riding, wine tours and trout fishing excursions if required. The great facilities and well designed Country Club makes this a great place to stay if you want to unwind and indulge in a bit of casino action.
